Announcing The Garrick S6 Timepiece

The evolution of Garrick’s most popular wristwatch

Garrick watch company is pleased to announce the launch of its newest hand-made watch, the hand-wound S6. Continuing a story that began in 2022 with the immensely popular S4, the S6 extends Garrick’s exceptional entry-level offering, again delivering remarkable value for the highest degrees of hand-making and bespoke service.

Powered as before by Calibre BF03, a version of the famous Swiss ETA 6498 movement that has been heavily modified and decorated by the company’s watchmakers, the S6 once again highlights in-house craftsmanship and lavish finishing in a hand-wound, 41mm wristwatch, in which almost every element is customisable.

The S6 features Garrick’s elegant English made case made from 904L stainless steel, which has been grained at the edges, frosted in between the lugs and richly polished on top.

In contrast to the bolder style of the S4, the S6 dial has a more paired-back aesthetic, free of numerals and allowing for a more spacious layout, with a more contemporary feel. Time is indicated solely via a narrow chapter ring at the edge of the dial, which carries indexes for hours and minutes (each painstakingly infilled with ink by hand), while a running seconds subdial is once again shown at 6 o’clock.

With much more of the dial surface exposed, emphasis is thrown onto the dazzling dial textures, tones and finishes that Garrick’s craftspeople are able to create. Every Garrick S6 is made individually to order, with clients invited to choose the particular finishes applied to their watch. The dial, each one made in-house from scratch, can be frosted, hand-hammered, laser textured, or engine turned in a variety of patterns (via Garrick’s in-house pair of rare traditional rose and straight line engines). Additionally, the small-seconds subdial can be made either in a uniform style, or with a contrasting finish of its own.

Clients can also choose between Garrick’s celebrated anchor-shaped hands, or more understated lancine hands, which like other elements of the watch are hand-made in the Garrick workshop, and can be grained, polished or heat blued.

The Calibre BF03 movement, visible through the display case-back, exhibits key features including a swan neck regulator and skeletonised balance cock, bevelled and polished bridges, heat blued screws and the signature engraved cover for the barrel and crown wheel. The large movement bridge, made in-house, can be engraved, hand-hammered, textured or frosted according to the client’s wishes, with a finish in either silver, rhodium, yellow gold or pink gold, with intricate plating processes is conducted in-house.

Having selected the style and finish of their watch, clients are further invited to follow the build of their S6 timepiece via a portal on the Garrick website, through which pictures are uploaded as the various elements are fabricated and assembled.

With prices starting at £5,412 +vat, the S6 embodies Garrick’s dedication to furthering the traditional skills of watchmaking and handcraft, and delivering exceptional timepieces at fair and accessible value.
