More about GARRICK's UT-G WATCH MOVEMENT
The hand-wound movement is frosted and polished by hand, typical of high-end watchmaking, and features Garrick’s own Trinity balance. The rim of the balance wheel is made of a patented metal alloy called Sircumet which is employed for the first time within a wristwatch.
Sircumet is a copper-based alloy exhibiting the following properties:
- Antimagnetic
- Free of toxic materials (no Pb, Be, Ni)
- Good hardness without needing heat treatment
- No distortion due to heat treatment
- It stays bright even without a galvanic treatment
- Sea water resistant
Compared to copper beryllium alloys like Glucydur ™ the advantages are: 2, 4, 5, 6
The thermal dilation is similar to copper beryllium.
Compared to Invar the advantage are: 1, 2, 4
Compared to brass: 2, 3, 5, 6
Similar alloys are used for nautical applications (1, 5, 6)
Assembly and finishing of the movement take place over 3 days by master watchmaker Craig Baird, a 30 year veteran of the industry.
The UT-G calibre powers our Regulator, S1, S2 and S3 timepieces.
